New Book for USCET's Inaugural Asian American Author, Gish Jen

USCET's inaugural Asian-American Author, Gish Jen, has a new book titled Tiger Writing: Art, Culture, and the Interdependent Self. Gish Jen traveled with USCET to China in November, 2012 and helped offically launch the Asian American Author Series at USCET's American Cultural Center at Beijing Foreign Studies University.

USCET Fellow Enhances American Studies Program at Jianghan University

April 1, 2013

Yao Guigui, Director for the Center of American Culture Studies at Jianghan University, Wuhan, China, was USCET’s first American Studies Fellowship recipient under the programming for American Society and Culture. She conducted research on gender and religion as a visiting scholar at Yale University during the fall 2012 semester under the mentorship of American Studies Professor Laura Wexler.

ASN 10th Ann. Conference Nov 15-17

From November 15-17, 2013, USCET will host the 10^th Annual American Studies Network Conference at the University of Hong Kong. USCET is accepting abstract submissions until June 15 2013 from scholars of all disciplines for research papers pertaining to the bilateral or transnational effects and perspectives of US-China relations.
